Handy tips for better business practices

Tip 1 - Create better PDFs.
PDF files were designed for printing but solid-colored cover pages dry up the ink tanks in a heart beat. Spare the ink (and the environment) by creating content on a white background.

Tip 2 - Check the 'stand alone' factor of your Web pages.
Web visitors don't always enter your site via the home page. Review each page of your site and ask 'If someone entered my site on this page, would they figure out within nine seconds what my business does?' If not, change your header or text to fix the problem.

Tip 3 - Research your keywords and turn them into customer magnets.
Ask your friends or family: 'If you were searching the Internet for a business just like mine, what words would you use?' You may be surprised at the answers. Our
Search Engine Optimization Kit shows you how to choose the best keywords to attract your target market to your site.

Tip 4 - Better business cards.
Print your business cards on matte card, not glossy. This way people can easily write additional notes on the back with a ballpoint pen. Great for networking events.

Tip 5 - Know how to identify the real benefits of your product or service.
Whether your business is product or service oriented, it's essential that your entire sales team know what all your product or service features are and how to identify the real benefit of each. If your team is still selling features, or misidentifying benefits - you'll benefit greatly from our $14 report Features vs. Benefits: End the confusion and start selling.

Tip 7 - Integrate your offline marketing with your online marketing.
Glance at the ads in your local newspaper and count how many of them fail to list the company Web site. About two-thirds of Internet searchers perform their searches after being exposed to some form of offline marketing. Nearly 40% of those searchers end up buying a product or a service as a result. Integrate your offline initiatives with your search marketing efforts and you'll maximize the results of both.

Tip 8 - Link your Web site logo to your home page correctly.
People expect to be able to click on your Web site logo and be taken to the home page of your site. Enable them to this from every page of your site—except the home page.
Also: always link the logo to www.example.com, not http://example.com or www.example.com/index etc.
