Description: Maneri & Maroules is a general practice law firm
located in New Jersey. The firm's 12-page Web site generates new
business for Maneri & Maroules by means of a successful pay-per-click
ad campaign and inclusion in a number of online law directories.
However,
the site was not being found naturally
on the Internet for keywords pertaining to law services in New
Jersey.
The Challenge: Up against considerable
competition from larger New Jersey law firms with Web
sites containing hundreds of optimized pages, the challenge was to
find a place on the first page of the major search engines
for the Maneri & Maroules Web site.
The Strategy: After in-depth keyword research revealed that
broad keywords like New Jersey Law Firm and New Jersey Attorneys
were far too competitive to produce successful results, we chose
instead to:
- optimize the site for less-popular yet highly relevant keywords as well as long-tail
keywords, both of which would attract more targeted traffic.
- target a relevant niche market for the firm—the Greek community of New
Jersey.
We also recommended splitting the Areas of Practice page—which was one long page—into individual pages, and optimizing
for specific areas of practice.
The optimization project was divided into
two phases.
Phase 1 involved the following:
- extensive keyword research.
- the addition of a site map.
- new titles and meta tags for every page of the site
- an internal text-link navigation system in addition to the regular
navigation.
Phase 2
involved the following:
- creation of 14 new pages for the separate areas
of practice.
- content development for the 14 new pages.
- new titles, meta tags, and internal linking system for the 14 new
pages.
The results so far: The Maneri & Maroules Web site can be
found naturally on page 1 of the search engines for the keywords
listed at the bottom of the page (Valid
August 2008). More importantly, the company is being found
naturally for many of their areas of practice, and visitors
are entering the site on a practice pages that are relevant to their
search terms—meaning
they don't have to click around the site to find the info they
need.
